Itchy Goes Grammy & Introduces Level 2
In the direct acronym, IME represents the primary corporation known as Itchy Metal Entertainment, a Los Angeles based indie record label launched in November 2010. Alternatively, the letters also stand for “I aM Entertainment” emphasizing the impact that DIY artists, tech and social media have on society. But at the end of the day IME is about music, reinventing an aged model and extending beyond the stars in both art and business.
Since inception, pioneering IME artists gathered under the label’s provision of music distribution and promotion known as Phase 1. The concept, simple: Although artists could go it alone, more is accomplished through community. Methodically consolidating resources, audience, and influence, IME parlayed international activity into a global consumer reach of millions within the first six months of operation.
While gaining ground, the company leadership worked towards establishing IME as a viable business force in music. From the start, IME’s increased momentum, artists, partners and admiration have afforded many milestones and proud achievements; among them, the latest.
Today, IME introduces a second evolution known as “Level 2”. This includes the unveiling of a new universal subsidiary of IME, branded ITCHY MUSIC & ENTERTAINMENT, a world media agency and official member of the most prestigious membership association in music, The Recording Academy. Celebrating music through the GRAMMY Awards for more than 50 years, the Recording Academy is the premier organization for honoring achievements in the recording arts, and supporting the music community.
“The industry validation and acceptance is a true honor. IME now has direct involvement in the Grammy Awards process including acceptance as an approved media agent. For our most ambitious, we enable a vehicle for taking art to the highest levels of accomplishment,” states IME Founder and CEO, Ed Fassio.
“As with all growth, these new horizons come with fresh expectations and increased responsibility. Joining the Academy represents a legacy of exceptional achievement in art. This is a business-changing opportunity that will impact every aspect of our future operations. This begins Level 2.”
