URBAN DISCIPLINE
About Urban Discipline:
Assembled in South East Sumatera (Lampung), Indonesia, Urban Discipline’s been demolishing the scene since 1997 through a four man formation that included previous members Abo (guitar), Amar (bass), Soni (drums) and Adhy (vocals).
Recording their first release in 1998, the band recorded an 8 song, indie album entitled “Premature”. With influence from bands like Biohazard, Rykers, A Youth of Today, the band creates songs with their own style and preservation of culture, preferring to deliver material with Indonesian lyrics.
“The first video they sent over confirmed what I was expecting,” smiles Fassio. “Unbridled energy, massive heavy groove and solid aggression…but the crowd reaction is what really sold me. UD channeled so much direct to their fans and you’re able to see them feed it right back. It was a perfect cause-and-effect dynamic that just kept getting bigger. That kind of audience power really drew me in.”
“These guys have survived a few different incarnations of the group, but are still going strong,” adds Fassio. “Having another power-house group that has the longevity and focus to continue to make great music is exactly the type of work ethic we embrace at IME, and we’re excited to have them.”
Urban Discipline’s initial work with Itchy Metal will be focused on a global, digital release supported by the label’s promotion and distribution channels. Stay tuned for the more, exciting announcements and developments from UD.
