Four kids from Concord, CA seem to be taking full advantage of their passion for music and ability to keep heavy metal fans head-banging and wanting more. With thrash-n-shred dynamics, NorCal rockers “Apothesary” are making sure that youth doesn’t go wasted on the young.
“Working with young artists always presents interesting variables to contend with,” reflects Ed Fassio, President of Itchy Metal Entertainment. “Everything becomes a factor based on age. From where they are allowed to perform to the group’s resilience, they’ll have to measure up in both raw talent and sustainability. In this regard, Apothesary’s resume shows seasoning and promise. Inherently marketable based on the mix of youth and metal, the band channels influences ranging from Slayer and Opeth to As I Lay Dying, Behemoth and Dream Theatre and it seems corporate factions have taken notice.
With just over two years of grind behind them, the band has accumulated impressive endorsements from companies such as Kahler Bridges, Soultone Cymbals, Kona Guitars, Hughes and Kettner Amps and Paul Reed Smith guitars. The interest extends beyond sponsors. Sharing stage with big name acts at famous venues, the band has developed a solid fan-base of thrash-enthusiasts which they routinely engage via Social Media channels – another advantage of their youth.
