About Illuminations:
When Itchy Metal president, Ed Fassio first came across the Bowie, Maryland band “Illuminations” there was a particular interest because of the band’s location. Fassio himself grew up on what locals describe as the “Maryland side of D.C.” – referring to the proximity of the Nation’s Capital being centrally located between the states of Maryland and Virginia.
“I’m intimately familiar with that place, specifically the PG County area. When I saw there was a band interested in working with us from my old hometown, I had to check it out,” states Fassio.
What he discovered was heavy, to say the least. Death-core inspired “Illuminations” is a six man battalion which includes Eric Hendricks on lead vocals, Mark Copeland and Tyler Huffman on guitars, Vince Briscoe on drums, Nick “Stiner” Fanelli on bass, and Alex Stillson on keys. The resulting symphony unleashes a mission of mayhem as the group sets out to capture the local scene.
“Nick and I had initial conversations about the direction of the band, the future of the industry and shared similar ideas and perspectives on the current state of independent music,” describes Fassio. “This band understands the important combination of stage and strategy. They’ve evolved through member changes and demonstrate a strong work ethic. Here’s a band with a fueled passion for metal and an equivalent appetite for success. Their business maturity is very appealing.”
Seasoned through live performance, Illuminations has played at venues large and small, sharing the bill with such acts as Sleeper, Destruction of a Rose, Armana Reign and Adema….just to name a few. And with a new release on the horizon, the band plans to continue an aggressive show schedule.
